A PRIMARY school has been given a glowing end of term report by schools watchdog, Ofsted.
St Anne's Roman Catholic Primary in Blackburn is described as being committed to continuous improvement and having a clear view of the way forward.
And the report specifically praises the Feilden Street school's caring attitude to moral and social development.
Inspectors praise the governors for their support of the staff and highlight the role of head teacher Stephen Nicholson who is described as having a positive impact on many aspects of the work of the school.
The inspectors add:" This is a very caring school in which pupils' safety and welfare are successfully promoted. The quality of leadership and management is good."
The report said there was room for improvement in the pupil's cultural development, which was described as relatively weak, and suggested that procedures for assessing and recording childrens' achievements could be improved.
Mr Nicholson said: " This is an excellent report and a tribute to the hard work of the staff, governors and pupils, backed by the support of parents and our strong partnership with the local authority."
Chairman of the governors Kate Pope said: " It recognises the tremendous amount of hard work that goes on in the school by all the staff and children.
"The governors are particularly pleased that the report highlighted the ethos of the school where the children are perceived as happy, hard-working, caring and considerate."
