ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman threatened to axe his entire first team squad after their seventh defeat of the season at Runcorn.
Liverpool-born Coleman was livid after his side gave away two 'daft' goals to gift the home side the points in the UniBond Premier clash on Saturday.
An after-match blast from the boss was followed with the news that every player was going on the transfer list, but Coleman today revealed that he was only trying to scare the players.
"After the game I was as mad as I am ever going to be," he said. "The things that were happening shouldn't be happening.
"We let ourselves down, gave a couple of daft goals away, and let them dictate the play.
"I am not putting them on the transfer list. I was just trying to shake them up and make them think about their own performances."
Stanley are currently sixth in the Premier Division but Coleman feels they should be pushing leaders Emley who are now 11 points ahead.
"It only seems to be our away games where there is a problem. At home we are pretty tight but away from home we meander about waiting for things to happen. No one is taking responsibility on the pitch."
Stanley travel to Radcliffe Borough on Saturday in the FA Umbro Trophy.
"I am looking for a positive response," said Coleman.
