IN early November the proposed closure of "Fylde Farm" was announced. The intention is to house the boys currently resident there in smaller establishments.
At the same time, planning permission is being sought to convert an ex-nursing home at 106 Breck Road, Poulton, into an establishment to accommodate 16 boys.
Assuming that this new home is to be used to house young offenders, this can only cause great concern to the residents of the Breck ward and to teachers and parents of pupils at Breck County Primary School and St John's RC Primary School.
