GRAEME Souness today revealed Stig Inge Bjornebye's hamstring problem is not as serious as first thought.
The Norwegian international defender was substituted on Saturday after complaining of a tight hamstring just 12 minutes into Rovers' 2-1 defeat against Gillingham.
But, though he now looks doubtful for Saturday's trip to Tranmere, reports of a one month lay-off appear to be wide of the mark.
"There'll be a doubt about Stig for the weekend but it's not that bad," said Souness.
Meanwhile, former England Under 21 international Marlon Broomes is back at Ewood after a spell on loan.
Broomes returned from a one-month stint with Queens Park Rangers yesterday after Loftus Road chief Gerry Francis decided not to extend his stay.
And Rangers have no plans to come back in with a permanent offer.
Goalkeeper Alan Miller will be staying at Coventry City for a second month, however.
Miller's loan spell with the Sky Blues was due to run out last weekend but Rovers have agreed to an extension.
Souness has quashed talk of a possible move from Leicester City for John Filan, though.
"I've heard nothing about that," said the Rovers boss.
Everton's Norwegian international goalkeeper Thomas Myhre has joined Tranmere on a two-month loan ahead of Saturday's game against Rovers at Prenton Park.
