READERS are familiar with the completed pages of our newspaper but just how are all the news and sports stories written?
And how are the pages, including headlines, advertisements, features, weather forecasts, local information, competitions and a host of other details, designed?
Some of these secrets were revealed to group of teachers, during a day-long visit to our head office.
Staff in over 40 schools currently using our Newspapers in Education classroom resources were invited to attend one of our special Newsdays.
This included a guided tour of our advertising, marketing and editorial departments, a talk by assistant editor Nick Nunn and a look at the range of hands-on educational activities offered free of charge to any school ordering our resources.
Funding towards the cost of supply cover for schools was provided by the Teacher Placement Service.
