I WONDER if someone at the council could tell us just what is going on?. The planning committee and officers of St Helens Council have approved outline planning permission for a new special needs school next to the Scott Clinic in Rainhill.
The Scott Clinic is a medium secure unit for mental patients who have committed criminal offences. Its most recent patient is Michael Abram. He broke into Beatle George Harrison's mansion and attempted to murder George and his wife.
Do these councillors think children with special needs have no values, that they can dump them next to the Scott Clinic?
I would like to ask the councillors it they would send their children, or grandchildren, to a school next to the Scott Clinic?
Have the councillors made inquiries to the Health Authority to see if any paedophiles are resident at the Scott Clinic?
It's about time the silent majority stood up to councillors who think they can railroad people with their ideas.
What do other members of the public think? How would they feel if they were told their children would be going to school next door to a clinic where there are murderers, or possibly paedophiles?
