SEVENTY TWO hours is all it will take the winners to get from Land's End to John O'Groats this weekend as the entrants in le Jog set off at 7.40 am on Saturday.

Billed as the most challenging event in the British Historic calendar, the 1,500 mile route sees former Gold Medal winners Bolton-le-Sands resident Kevin Savage guiding Jayne Wignall through some of the most remote countryside, whilst Nether Kellet's Fred Bent occupies a similar seat in Neil Wilson's Porsche 356.

This is the seventh running of the event which attracts the cream of Historic rallying to work under extreme pressure and in inhospitable conditions in search of the coveted Gold Medal. The event will be passing through the area on Sunday and anyone interested in helping should contact Christine Shepherd for details.
