RUN-MACHINE Arran Taylor put on her fielding hat to help England to a 140-run win over Holland in the Women's Cricket World Cup.
The 18-year-old, right, from Barnoldswick put in an impressive fielding display as the Dutch managed just 116 for nine in England's opening World Cup game.
England batted first with Charlotte Edwards (139 not out) and Barbara Daniels (79) helping England pile up a daunting total of 256 at the BIL Oval in Lincoln.
Thompson scored three runs but was caught out as she tried to force the pace with just a few overs remaining.
Coach Paul Farbrace was delighted with her contribution and the perfomance of the whole team.
"Arran is probably the strongest fielder we have. She is a great athlete and a real competitor.
"I was very pleased with the whole team's performance and it sets us up nicely for Saturday's game against South Africa which is going to be much tougher."
