PRESTON will be looking to do the double over Division One high-flyers Fulham this Saturday (December 2) as the side travel to Deepdale hoping to stretch their run of good form.
But, it will be Preston with the point to prove following last Saturday's defeat at the hands of a thumping hat-trick from West Brom's Lee Hughes.
The Lilywhites will be keen not to lose two matches back to back and Saturday's clash with Fulham looks set to be a thrilling contest.
Preston still remain the only team in the division to beat the London side at home following their 1-0 win in October.
And with the last match suspensions on Saturday for both Colin Murdock and Graham Alexander following the notorious Nottingham Forest fracas, David Moyes will have a nearly fully-fit squad to choose from with no real injury worries to contend with. Meanwhile, Jon Macken's new four-year deal with certainly boost the team's confidence going in to Saturday's game. The news ends speculation about his future following his goalscoring success last season -- culminating in being voted in the PFA team of the year.
Speaking to the club's official website, he said he was delighted with the new deal.
He said: "I'm very happy. I only signed a new contract at the end of last season, but the club came to me and offered me a new one which I was very happy with and very proud to sign.
"The club's going in the right direction and it will be a fantastic achievement if we can get in to the play-offs. I hope the fans are pleased, because I'm happy to be here."
Chief Executive Tony Scholes was pleased Macken had agreed the deal.
"We're delighted to secure the services of a such a talented player. This is testimony to David Moyes and Preston North End, that a player of Jon's talent is prepared to commit his foreseeable future to the club."
Preston fans are being asked a series of questions when buying tickets for the Burnley match to prove they are real supporters and to prevent away fans getting into home sections.
