BRINGING female impersonators to Blackpool may be like bringing coals to Newcastle.

But when Ceri Dupree graces the stage at Blackpool Grand Theatre, it will be a welcome return for the former Horseshoe Showbar resident.

Ceri told the Citizen: "My one man, 21-woman show is perfect for Blackpool as it's one of the last places where you can find fabulous shows with a bit of glitz and glamour.

"And the Grand Theatre is just beautiful and a bit different from some venues I've played! I turned up at a leisure centre in Wales recently with all my frocks and I thought this is never going to work! But once we got started and I did a bit of Marlene Dietrich and Shirley Bassey it was just a wonderful night."

Ceri is backed in Blackpool by a live band and promises to produce a flurry of fabulous females without ever leaving the stage!

"Everyone is there from Zsa Zsa to Pamela Anderson in her famous red swimsuit and of course Barbara Cartland who was a mad old bird but is still my favourite. I just want to bring a bit of fantasy and get rid of some of the doom and gloom."

Catch Ceri sponsored by In The Pink Leisure in all his glitter at Blackpool Grand Theatre on December 6 for one night only. Call the box office on (01253) 290190 for tickets at £12.50 and more information.
