EUROPE'S biggest motorcycle extravaganza is set to move to August Bank Holiday weekend next year.
Organisers of the Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show held their first public meeting at St Mary's Chambers, Rawtenstall, to explain the show and also suggest the change of date.
This year the show, which since it started has been held towards the end of September suffered because of appalling wet weather.
Each year around 40,000 people come to the show from all over the country and if the date switch as agreed stands will be able to be set up late Saturday to trade for two full days on Sunday and Monday.
Bike show publicity officer Peter Gill said he hoped holding the event over two full days would attract people to come and stop in Rossendale for the duration of the show which would bring more income into pubs, clubs and restaurants.
