AS the form of Bury FC takes a dramatic dip it appears the knives are being sharpened for Andy Preece. But isn't this a classic case of shooting the messenger?
Surely a manager can only be judged on the players he signs and in Preece's case this is none! He has merely inherited Neil Warnock's old mates and free transfers. What chance does he or any other manager have in those circumstances?
Every successful manager has to have financial backing from his chairman and the board of directors. So if the chairman and the board can't provide that backing what is the point of them being there?
Sorry, but Mr Robinson and his board are in charge so they must carry the can. Either provide the manager with what is required to create a winning side or get out.
And I would suggest to my fellow loyal fans that, rather than getting on Preece's back they direct their anger at the directors' box. "Give us the tools and we will do the job" was good enough for Winston Churchill and it would be good enough for Andy Preece. C'mon Bury!
