SOME of the national Press ran a story last weekend claiming Damien Duff was heading for the Ewood exit door.

But, if that's the case, then why do my spies tell me he's just applied for membership at Clitheroe Golf Club?

That's hardly the act of a man who was reportedly ready to up sticks and head for the bright lights of London.

Try again lads!

TONY Parkes again donned his caretaker's coat for yesterday's pre-match press conference at Brockhall.

And, in his own inimitable style, he couldn't resist having a bit of a laugh at the Press' expense.

When one hack asked if it was a something of a relief that long-throw expert Dave Challinor wasn't playing for Tranmere today, Parkes's reply was razor sharp.

"It's certainly not a relief for me because I wouldn't be heading any balls clear if he was playing!"

Socks stock STUCK for a stocking filler this Christmas?

Then why not take a stroll down Memory Lane with a new book by Dean Hayes called 'The Blue and Whites' -- a concise post war history of Blackburn Rovers.

Published by Parrs Wood Press, Hayes punctuates his story of the last 50 years with a host of player profiles focusing on some of the many personalties who have donned the famous blue and white halves.

From Ronnie Clayton to Mick McGrath, Simon Garner to Alan Shearer, it's an interesting trawl through the archives.

At £7.99 it's a snip, so check out www.parrswoodpress.com for further details.

And, while we're on the subject, don't forget Tim Barlow's off the wall account of life as Rovers fans is also currently on the shelves.

Called 'Get a Grip,' it's available from a host of outlets across East Lancashire, including Mercers in Blackburn, Lee's Gents hairdressers in Oswaldtwistle, Haslingden Cricket Club and Uncle Jack's in Lower Darwen.

DON'T forget, next week's reserve game against Liverpool at Morecambe has now been switched from Tuesday to Monday.

THE draw for the Blackburn Rovers Supporters Club Christmas raffle will take place at the Rover The Moon store on December 14.

A host of top prizes are up for grabs and a couple of players will be there to make sure things run smoothly.

Teaser THE answer to last week's teaser 'which club gave Rovers' new boy Marcus Bent his big break' was of course Brentford.

This week's question is: David Dunn got sent off for the first time in his career last week against Gillingham. But who was the last Rovers play to get sent off before him and against whom?
