POLICE are appealing to the public to help catch vandals whose recent trails of destruction targeted bus shelters and telephone boxes.
Rossendale West Inspector Ewan Cameron said patrols in Rossendale had been stepped up but the public's help was needed to catch the culprits.
He said: "I would urge anyone who knows anything about the damage to contact local police or to call Crimestoppers. Local police, in partnership with others, are working hard to make Rossendale a safer place in which to live and work and behaviour like this will not be tolerated."
Anyone with information can call Sergeant Mick Harrison on 01706 237470 or voice mail on 01706 237513. Crimestoppers can be called free on 0800 555 111.
