A PROJECT to demolish an old mill in Colne and build a modern, new factory and offices will be vying for Grimewatch recognition in the latest round of environment awards.
The old Vivary mill in North Valley Road was a damp and dilapidated eyesore.
But under the supervision of Anthony Clarkson, owner of Clarkson Fabrics, the mill was razed to the ground in a project that began in December, 1997.
And now the attractive, new factory building is in place, complete with landscaped surroundings to provide a much brighter and pleasant environment for workers, residents in the area and any visitors!
If you have a project that you think is worth celebrating then we want to hear about it. Or if you know someone who is doing good work for the environment and would like to nominate them for Grimebuster or Junior Grimebuster of the Year then let us know.
