A COUPLE conned their way into a 90-year-old woman's home in Dugdale Road, Burnley, and stole cash and a metal box.
Detective Sergeant Steve Earnshaw said the smartly dressed couple called between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday.
They said they had recently moved into the area and asked about gardening work.
While the man distracted the woman his accomplice stole the money and the box. DS Earnshaw said: "We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw these people acting suspiciously to contact Burnley CID on 01282 425001 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111." The man is described as white, in his 20s, 5ft 7ins, medium build with short brown hair.
The woman is white, 5ft 2ins, slim build, with shoulder length straight hair.
