Ashton Town 0 Colne 2
COLNE produced one of their best performances of the season to win through to the first round of the NWCL Trophy Knockout and set up a home clash with Formby on December 16.
Goals from Lee Coleridge (41) and Matt Aspinwall (80) secured victory for Colne who had five players absent, mainly due to representative call-ups.
It could have been more had not Ashton goalkeeper Michael Boyne been in inspired form.
Jonathan French threaded the ball through to Coleridge to open the scoring before a shot from the lively Coleridge was brilliantly parried by Boyne but Aspinwall was on hand to pick up the rebound.
