I WONDER if Councillor Pearson, apparently a financial expert, could explain to the rest of us what happened to the billions of pounds raised by the Conservative government when it sold off Telecom, the gas, water and electric industries, Giro, and the railways.

As far as I can recollect none of the revenue was spent on the health service, schools or social services. More importantly, none of it ended up in my pocket.

Perhaps he can also explain why he supports a party whose past actions have resulted in the handing-over of control of essential utilities and our manufacturing base to those Europeans he professes to be against interfering in England's affairs.
