DOGS from search charity Canis will speed to their next rescue operation in style after a donation of transport by Colne-based Acorn Pet Supplies.

The animal feed suppliers, in Whitehall Industrial Estate, donated Clipper transportation crates which will allow members of the team to take the dogs on aircraft and other transport.

Nigel Boden, a volunteer with Canis, said: "They are essential for us to be able to deploy dogs abroad.

"We had a couple of wooden crates before that someone had made for us but they were past their best.

"These have detachable wheels so we can wheel them around the airport instead of sitting the crates on normal luggage carriers."
