A YOUNG woman was indecently assaulted in an alleyway minutes after making a call from a public phone box.
The 21-year-old was walking away from the call-box along Commercial Street, Oswaldtwistle, when the attacker pounced and dragged her into an alleyway, where she was assaulted.
The man then ran off along Commercial Street in the direction of Victoria Street. The attack happened between 12am and 12.15am on Sunday.
Police are keen to talk to a man who used the phone box immediately before the attack victim. He was white, about 25, 5ft 6in and stocky with short, blond hair, and was wearing cream trousers and a cream jumper. Police stress that he is not the attacker.
The attacker was around 25, clean shaven and of medium build and had short, brown hair in a short-back-and-sides style. He was wearing a dark v-neck pullover, cream trousers and brown boots.
Anybody with information should call Accrington CID on 01254 353741 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
