CHILDREN at Brownhill Playgroup in Blackburn were found to be making good progress towards early learning goals by Ofsted inspectors.
Personal and social emotional development was found to be well fostered, with children tackling activities with confidence, often initiating and developing games and ideas of their own.
The report said: "Behaviour is good and relationships through the group are strong. Staff value each child as an individual and make learning fun.
"Language for communication is good. Children interact and negotiate well and they use actions and talk to organise and explore real and imagined experiences."
Teaching was found to be good overall with children making good progress towards all early learning goals for creative development.
Playgroup supervisor Vivienne Shaw said: "We were delighted with the report. The inspection went really well, especially on the creative side of things. We do quite a lot of music and songs which the children really enjoy.
"Over the next few years we hope to build on our success and continue the good work which has been done."
