GIRL power has triumphed in the competition to find budding newshounds, set in our English/Media resource for KS3 and KS4.
The winners and runners-up are all from Walshaw High School fro Girls, Burnley.
Joint first prize winners are Sarah Aslam and Zaqiya Khan, with Sarah Shepherd and Mikaela Lord, runners-up.
All winners are aged 14.
The challenge was to write an original news report, based on one of a selection of photographs in the supplement.
Winners will receive prizes of superb books from publisher Dorling Kindersley, including their Junior Chronicle of the 20th Century, worth £25, and Britain's Century, selling at £12.99.
Both books give a truly fascinating picture of the last century in news reporting style, illustrated with hundreds of archive pictures.
Well done girls!
