CLARETS boss Ternent is hopeful of having a full hand to select from for the televised Sunday showdown against Rovers a week on Sunday.

His squad will be more stretched for Saturday's visit to Deepdale with injury victims Briscoe (gashed knee) and Glen Little (hamstring) also set to miss out.

But both should be back in contention for the clash against Rovers, who are likely to be without central defender Henning Berg.

Ternent added: "Glen's doing quite well and unless there's a reaction he should be alright and Brisser won't be far off.

"He won't be ready for Saturday but he's had the stitches out and it's healing up reasonably well."

Berg is expected to return to Manchester United at the end of his loan spell this weekend with Rovers boss Graeme Souness not looking to finance a permanent deal.

Preston will also be without a couple of keys player on Saturday as wingman Iain Anderson has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and midfielder Michael Appleton is suspended.

Former Toulouse player Anderson -- one of North End's joint record signings at £500,000 -- was stretchered off during Saturday's 1-1 draw with league leaders Fulham.

The Scot clashed heads with Cottagers playmaker Bjarne Goldbaek and while jumping for the ball also pulled his hamstring.

"It's a blow," admitted Preston manager David Moyes. "He had been doing very well and we're pleased with him after a succession of injuries.

"He was beginning to get a run of games and we were beginning to see him improve."

Anderson had scored two goals in Preston's last three games and had sealed a regular starting spot in the last five matches.

But it looks like he could be sidelined until after Christmas, joining strikers Steve Basham and American Brian McBride on the long-term casualty list.
