WORK in arts and culture has won an East Lancashire business manager a national award.
George Perrin, head of property services at computer giant Time Group, of Simonstone, near Burnley and another North West businessman shared the Arthur Andersen Award for Adviser of the Year 2000.
The award celebrates the achievements of business volunteers who devote time and expertise to working with the arts.
The winners worked together on a successful museum development project with Macclesfield Museums Trust.
Between them, they devoted 900 hours towards a Trust project aimed at developing the museum.
The men received £2,000 to contribute to the Trust, as well as a specially commissioned piece of art.
Mr Perrin said: "The project reinforced my understanding of what can be achieved by true teamwork and the benefits of bringing together different skills and, in particular, different points of view in order to achieve an agreed objective."
