A TEENAGER who stole the cab of an articulated lorry left a trail of destruction across Lancashire as he fled from police on Tuesday night.
Police vehicles were rammed by the 16-year-old and his 24-year-old passenger as they sped through three different counties from Heysham to Liverpool in the stolen Volvo cab.
Helicopters and squad cars followed them in hot pursuit and stingers were used to try and stop them as they fled down the M6.
The teenager also ploughed through a blockade of police cars leaving a number of police officers with whiplash and minor injuries.
The cab was spotted in Heysham by police and when they approached it sped off. They were in collision with police cars in Morecambe town centre and then got onto the motorway where they headed for Merseyside.
The high powered cab was abandoned in Stockbridge Village in Liverpool and one of the duo was arrested immediately. The other was later tracked down by police dogs.
Both men were from the Liverpool area and have been questioned and detained.
