ONE question I often get asked by readers of our website This is Lancashire is if there are any street maps on the site.
Well, the answer is yes and no -- there are no maps within our information pages but we are linked to Fish4It, Britain's biggest online business directory, which has street maps for every entry.
So if, as one reader was recently, you were trying to find where Leyland Library was, the easy way is to fish for it!
On the front of This is Lancashire is a Fish4It search form (it's at the bottom of the central index, for those of you incapable of scrolling); simply type in the details of the business or organisation you are interested in (eg, library) and whereabouts it is (eg Leyland).
Fish4It may ask you to refine your search category or town, but just keep clicking and you will get to a directory entry, for each there is a locator map, which you can find by clicking the appropriate link.
You then are given a map, which you can zoom in and out of to really help you get your bearings.
And if you go to the Fish4It link on our Marketplace section (www.thisislancashire.co.uk/lancashire/marketplace) you can refine your search even further, such as by putting in where you are and where you want to find; the resulting map will show you where you are and where you want to be.
Isn't technology grand?
