BJFF U9s A 2 YMCA A 8
BJFF U9s B 8 YMCA B 1
YMCA lost 10-9 on aggregate but the home team's decision to play their weaker side in the A match seemed pointless with both contests being totally one-sided. Joe Van-Breemen hit five in the A game with Mike Murray (2) and James Gardner also on target. In the B game YMCA were always going to struggle against BJFF's stronger outfit and their only consolation was a goal from Christie Barlow.
BLACKPOOL RANGERS U11s 1 YMCA 8
THE heavy pitch was a problem for YMCA's passing style but they settled early and soon put the game beyond Rangers' reach. Two goals apiece by Rick Seear and Luke Andrews and one each by Ben Seear and Aaron Kitchin gave them a commanding 6-0 lead at the interval. YMCA added twice more, Kitchin notching his second and Scott Waddell another. Rangers grabbed a late consolation. Joe Leonard was notable for YMCA.
BLACKPOOL RANGERS U13s 4 YMCA 0
RANGERS were quicker to the ball and more determined in the tackle and led 2-0 at the break. The home side continued to dominate after the restart and added two more goals. David Tufft, Joe Appleton and Mark Jolly were the only notables for a well beaten YMCA outfit.
YMCA U14s 7 BLACKPOOL RANGERS 4
LEAGUE leaders YMCA were in control from the start and strikes by Lee Glickman, Alan O'Loughlan and Sean Atkinson put them 3-0 ahead at the break. YMCA's dominance continued and O'Loughlan added his second. Rangers pulled one back but Atkinson then scored three more for YMCA to bring his match-tally to four. After YMCA had made five substitutions Rangers hit three late goals. Andy Harvie was in great form for YMCA. LYTHAM JUNIORS U15s 1 YMCA 3
ALTHOUGH YMCA dominated they failed to create too many chances which they paid for with Lytham breaking away to snatch a 1-0 interval lead from virtually their only attack. YMCA substitute Jake Lavin levelled the scores with his first touch then five minutes later put YMCA ahead. Other chances were created before James Harrison added a third in the closing minutes. Ben Marks was outstanding with Rick Callaghan, Steve Bonser and Mark Hesp also notable.
YMCA U17s 2 BJFF SENIORS 2
YMCA earned an excellent point against high-riding and older opposition. YMCA led 2-1 at the break with strikes from Michael Hindmarsh and Adam Albrecht. The visitors lifted their game after the restart and deservedly levelled and the game ended all-square. Nick Burrows was outstanding in YMCA's midfield.
