Vulcan RU 41 Southport XV 10
VULCAN returned to action after an enforced lay-off and, aided by some Eagle players, showed what type of rugby they can play.
The home side led 12-10 at the break with tries by P. Healey and Evans, plus a conversion by Holland, in reply to a converted try and a penalty by the seasiders.
But after making changes at half-time Vulcan raised their game to run out comfortable winners. P. Healey and Evans both added further touchdowns, with others coming from D. Jones and M. Holland.
This Saturday, Vulcan meet Capenhurst at the Sportsfield, players meet at 1.15pm for a 2.30pm kick-off.
Any players wishing to join either the open-age or under 17s are welcome to go down to club on Thursdays at 7pm.
