ST HELENS Council is investing more than £200,000 in housing estates in a bid to cut crime.
Recently approved by the council's Executive Committee, the cash will be used to fund safety improvements on estates in the Broad Oak, Parr and Hardshaw, Queens Park, Thatto Heath, Newton West and West Sutton wards.
These include boundary fencing and walls, improved access for vehicles and car parking provision, better lighting and security.
