AS patron of the Help the Aged Not Old Just Older Awards (NOJOs), I would like to take this opportunity to encourage your readers to put forward their nominations.
These prestigious awards recognise the achievements and contributions of those who have made a real difference to the lives of older people.
Nominations need to be made for those who have dedicated their efforts to a project or activity for the benefit of others. The winners will be presented with their awards in a star-studded ceremony at The Savoy in London on March 22.
Help the Aged is looking for nominations by January 8 in six categories: Outstanding Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Sport, Technological Development, Community, Quality of Life and Media.
I ask readers to join in and nominate their local NOJO star. Nomination forms are available by calling the awards hotline on 020 7253 2926 or by writing to Kath Ellis, Help the Aged, St James's Walk, Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R OBE.
I do hope your readers will support the NOJOs and celebrate the achievements made by those or for those in later life.
CHERIE BOOTH QC, for Help the Aged.
