ROYAL Navy trainee Lt Neil Winbolt has found the years are flying by as he trains to become a pilot.
After joining in 1998, Neil, 25, from Lytham, has gone on to complete his officer training at Britannia Royal Naval College and then an arduous aircrew survival course.
He has also served on HMS Boxer in the Far East where he visited countries such as Vietnam, China and Malaysia.
Neil started his training in May at RAF Cranwell and he currently flies the Firefly T67M, a powerful fixed wing twin-seat trainer.
In the future he hopes to fly the Navy's newest helicopter, the Merlin, which comes into operation next year.
