NORTHERN Ireland international Keith Gillespie is being tracked by a mystery Portuguese club.

Ewood chief executive John Williams today revealed a club have contacted Rovers about taking the 25-year-old on loan until the end of the season.

And the former Manchester United winger -- who returned this week from a loan spell with Wigan -- would jump at the chance of a move if the opportunity arose.

"I've not heard anything about it, but if they did come in, then it's something I'd definitely consider," said Gillespie.

"It's no use me just sitting around and playing in the reserves every two weeks.

"I need to be playing regular first team football.

"This could possibly give me the chance to do that and the Portuguese league isn't a bad one so it would appeal."
