A CIRCUS show with a difference rolls in to town this weekend as scores of teenagers from across Preston show off their 'big top' skills.
Jugglers, clowns, gymnasts and trapeze artists from the PPAL (Physical Performing Arts in Lancashire) based on Eldon Street, Preston, are to host a special two-night show in a bid to raise their profile and also to 'whip up' much-needed funds for the Sam Appeal.
And the show, to be staged on Saturday January 6 and Sunday January 7 at the St Peter's Church Arts Centre, Fylde Road, Preston, will also feature professional ringmaster Kevin John whose impressive credentials include working at Blackpool Circus and being nominated Ringmaster of the Year.
June Barberel, organiser and head of PPAL, said that the 60-strong troupe of children, aged between six and 18, have been rehearsing tirelessly for their performance this weekend.
She said: "All the children have been working very hard indeed for this show.
"It's going to be fantastic. There's all sorts of things going on on the night from jugglers to clowns, gymnasts to uni-cyclists."
June, whose own 19-year-old son Paul is appearing as a juggler, added: "We want as many people as possible to turn up on the night and support these children.
"These kids have never done anything like this before, so it's very important that their talent is noticed."
Admission on the two nights will be £2 for adults and £1 for children with the show starting on 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
