POLICE have appealed for public help after a women suffered mystery injuries just before Christmas.
The 39-year-old woman spent the afternoon of Wednesday December 20 in the Blue Anchor pub, Mainway.
She walked to her home on the same street at around 9.45pm, but woke up the next morning to discover she had a fractured left eye socket and bruising around her right eye and neck.
Police now want to hear from anyone who saw what happened to the woman on the way home from the pub.
Det Insp Andy Chambers said: "All we can ask is that if anybody saw the lady being assaulted or if they saw her falling over please contact us. It's a mystery we need to get to the bottom of."
