ACCRINGTON celebrates the New Year a little later than everyone else this weekend -- but it's set to be well worth the wait.
The Accrington Family Fun Weekend will take over the town centre for three days.
There will be fairground rides, children's entertainers, music and street entertainers.
Events kick off on Friday evening with a night of olde worlde music, song and comedy at Accrington Town Hall.
An evening of fun and music is on offer on Saturday, with Shania Twain and Meatloaf look-alikes performing, along with entertainment for children.
Tickets bought in advance for each event cost £1, but this will be refunded on the door.
During the day on Saturday, the Town Hall hosts a volunteers' fair, while on Sunday, hourly fun sessions will be held.
These will feature craft activities, entertainers, face painting and a giant Scalextric in the Supper Room.
The New Era Centre in Paradise Street will be the venue for a craft, art and sporting activities.
The event comes to a close at 5pm on Sunday when a giant fireworks display will light the skies over the Arndale Centre.
Road closures will be in effect throughout the weekend.
