ANOTHER New Year eh? Where do they all come from?

One thing we always do at New Year is pass the odd resolution, all of which seem a good idea at the time.

Mind you, at the time, another Rusty Nail (it's a cocktail, and the best way to reduce the glut of Drambuie that always accumulates at Christmas) seems like a good idea at the time and you only realise that is was, in fact, a very, very, very bad idea when you are awoken at 7am on New Year's Day by a very animated toddler who wants to build another snowman and play with all the very noisy toys she has got from Santa. But I digress.

Any road up, one of the top resolutions is the old dreaded weed, kicking the habit and all that.

And, as I'm sure you'd expect, you can get help in stopping smoking from the internet. For a start, if you're busy clicking and typing then you can't be dragging on a fag, can you?

And there are places you can find advice and help on giving up, and as good a place to start as any is the NHS' health promotion site, where you can find links to quite a few other sites. It takes a bit of digging but hey, while you're surfing, you ain't smoking.

By the way, before anyone accuses me of being one of those pain in the neck anti-smoking types, I am a smoker, I just haven't had a cigarette for two years. And no, it wasn't because of a new year's resolution.
