KING Edward and Queen Mary School Under 13s completed a tough programme in the first half of the season with a good win against Skipton.
Adam Hogg at stand off and centre David Tufft were outstanding while hooker Ben Johnson and number eight James Atherton kept the pack going in muddy conditions.
Scrumhalf and captain Charlie Osborne (pictured with the team) has been rewarded for his good form with a call up into the Lancashire Cubs representative squad.
Coach Richard Chester has been pleased with the determination of his A and B sides in the face of miserable weather for training.
He said; "We have a very demanding schedule of games but everyone has shown a great deal of commitment. The B team result against Arnold was outstanding and competition for places has kept them on their toes."
This month the boys face tough games against Lancaster and Macclesfield before travelling to Newcastle for a two match tour and defending the trophy in the regional sevens competition for Under 13s teams.
