INJURED Morecambe star Michael Knowles received a boost from the Christie Park board this week.
The locally based midfielder suffered a horrific injury in the Boxing Day game at Southport.
And he faced an uncertain future, with his contract at the club due to expire in the Summer.
However, the club's directors agreed to offer him a new one year deal to encourage him in his rehabilitation.
Chairman Peter McGuigan described Knowles, at the club since his schooldays as a 'loyal servant.'
