DUMPLINGS were the order of the day at a popular Wrea Green pub.
New landlord and landlady of The Grapes, Stephen and Eira Winrow, put on a special Villagers' Day to mark the pub's re-opening following a major three-month refurbishment earlier this year.
And, to mark the occasion, locals were treated to traditional Lancashire dumplings as the pub was originally called The Dumplings.
Blackpool-born Stephen said: "We are aiming to maintain the pub's reputation as a traditional British hostelry and so we thought it would be appropriate to lay on some dumplings for the villagers. In fact they went down so well that we've decided to keep them on the menu!"
Beer lovers can choose from a wide range of hand-pulled traditional cask ales and guest beers, as well as a selection of wines from around the world chosen by The Observer's award-winning wine writer Tim Atkin.
The Grapes can be found in the centre of Wrea Green on the B5259 near Kirkham, two miles from junction three of the M55.
