CHEERS to a Poulton pub that has just picked up another award for its beer.
Landlord Brian Valentine from the Thatched House has been awarded "Theakston Acclaimed Purveyor" status.
Earlier in the year the pub was given a special award by CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) for the quantity and quality of cask ales that Brian has on offer.
The Acclaimed Purveyor awards are only given to pubs that meet with Theakston's stringent requirements for their handling of cask beers.
Now the pub will be taking delivery of Theakston's new ale, Cool Cask, which is served at ten degrees Celsius, a lower temperature than most real ales.
It was thought that the fact that most real ales are served warm is what most customers find unappetising about traditional beers.
After a busy Christmas and New Year, landlord Brian is delighted with his award and enthusiastic about the new brew he is stocking.
"It's great to see a brewery moving with the times. I'm sure that Cool Cask will be a firm favourite for years to come," he said.
