POSTERS showing photos of Rossendale hit and run victim Ron Cobbledick will go up in more than 500 truckers' cafes and biker pubs across the country in a bid to track down his killer.
The national Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) -- which has offered a reward of £5,000 to find the trucker who knocked Mr Cobbledick off his scooter -- has created a poster giving details of the incident on October 30, 2000 and Mr Cobbledick's picture.
Warwickshire police are also putting the final touches to an official poster which will be distributed in similar places.
In the incident on the M40 near Henley, Lambert Howarth worker Mr Cobbledick, 43, of Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, is believed to have been dragged along behind the truck for around 200 yards before the driver stopped to remove the scooter from under his rig.
He was then hit by four other lorries and a van while the trucker continued.
Phil Neale, director of public affairs for MAG, said: "We were so horrified by what happened we wanted to make sure this person was found and convicted.
"We are trying to encourage motorcyclists and truckers to come forward with information which we can pass on to the police.
"We have had a lot of calls from truckers who have said they are concerned and have asked how they can help and they have asked for posters.
"There is going to be someone who is suspicious of a damaged truck or of a particular driver."
Anyone with information can contact MAG anonymously on 0870 4448448 or the police hotline on 01926 415257.
