Harriers double
TODMORDEN Harriers had a double success in the Hot Toddy 5.8M Road Race on New Year's Eve.
Alison Rees was first lady in a time of 36:34, and Pat Collier won the L55 division.
Clayton's Dany Robson finished fifth. Salford Harrier John Brown was the men's winner in 28:21, a minute and a half clear, while Tod pair Paul Brannigan and George Ehrhardt both earned top ten places in 4th and 9th respectively.
Splitting them was Clayton veteran Mark Aspinall who was 2nd M40 in 6th spot. Richard Packer from Padiham and Brian Hargreaves of Todmorden were 2nd and 3rd in the M65 class. Park show
THE presentation for last summer's On The Run Park Series will take place on Saturday 6th January at St Chads Club, Whittle Le Woods.
Invites are on their way to all the winners of the four race series which was held in Astley Park, Chorley. Among the athletes to be honoured are Neil Tattersall of Hyndburn, the overall winner, Paul Corlett of Chorley AC, the leading veteran, and Vanessa Peacock of Clayton who was the top lady. Sixteen year old Peter Dickenson of Chorley AC and Victoria Snape from Chorley Harriers who is fourteen were the winners of the junior series. DEREK Coleran was the leading M55 in the recent Benidorm Half Marathon.
The fifty six year old Blackburn Road Runner stopped the clock at 1:25:55 to beat his personal best by four minutes. Colne test
GERRY McCabe of Trawden AC has announced that the Colne 11 mile Road and Multi-Terrain Race will be held on Sunday 11th February.
The club relaunched the event last year after an absence of four years. Previously it had been included in the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix. Fun running
THE Forest of Rossendale Black Pudding Hash will take place every second Wednesday at 7:15pm from the Royal at Waterfoot.
The club advertises itself as 'A new drinking club with a running problem.' The runs involve 'Trails of flour, a few checks, false trails, regroups, beer stops and lots of social humour.' For further details call Chris on 07866301358.
