PAUL Terzis is still drooling over the sensational length of the field try Leigh scored against Swinton.
"Outstanding, brilliant, probably one of the best I've ever seen," declared the Centurions head coach as he reflected on a fourth successive NFP win.
Leigh's third try of the game started close to their own line and finished after some magical team play with Alan Hadcroft touching down at the side of the posts.
"That's got to be one of the best tries I've ever seen. It wasn't a dry day here and the soccer game had gone on beforehand so it was quite greasy conditions," he says.
"Despite all that we showed tremendous footwork and handling, kept supporting and kept breaking. The great thing was that none of the balls went into the chest, it was in the hands all the way until Alan crossed the line.
"That spell of quick tries shows our ability to raise the tempo in a game when it's needed. That's something the squad has, the ability to raise it to another level.
"But we're not getting too carried away at this stage, it's still only four wins after all.
"We tried out one or two new combinations in the second half after Svabic had gone off and I'd withdrawn Bristow. When you have good ball playing and attacking players like those off the field, it's pretty hard to fill in smoothly."
Despite his pleasure at Leigh's overall performance, Terzis knows there is still room for improvement.
"Out of a rating of 10 I still only think were only at five or six. We've still got a lot of improving to do."
But the defensive side of Leigh's game is pleasing the boss.
"On last year we've improved by at least 50 per cent defensively. In the second half we had to defend 17 sets of six and the only way they crossed our line was off a kick on the last tackle. The biggest thing for us this week was to get our defence back on track. We slipped up in a few areas there against Widnes and today we put that right."
Lions' boss Mike Gregory was more concerned about his own team's shortcomings.
He said: " In the first half we gave Leigh a lot of ball back and being a quality side they killed us with it.
"We knew they have a massive right to left shift on attack and had worked on that in training But they cut us up time and time again.
"Having said that we fell off some soft tackles. We missed 32 in the first half and 27 in second and you can't do that at this level."
