A TWIN town challenge could raise £1 million to buy a new hospital scanner.
Bury has agreed to support the fun event which, if enough cash is generated for the medical equipment at Salford Royal, will have a regional impact.
A maximum of 50 teams will head off to France in March and visit the Bury and Salford twin towns of Angouleme, Tulle, Saint Ouen, Clermont-Ferrand and Narbonne, where they will be set a challenge by each town mayor.
Teams have to raise £2,500 to compete, and the event is being filmed.
Prospective teams should phone Glen Lockett on 787 1234 for information.
