DESPITE the cold and the problems it brings, it's hard not to experience a childlike thrill when you open your curtains to find a blanket of snow outside.
Last week's snowfall was regarded as a late Christmas present by many who enjoyed sledging and sliding in what was a winter wonderland.
And Rob and Alison Entwistle of Bamburgh Close, Radcliffe, were so excited they rushed out into the garden to build their six month old son, Kyle, a snowman.
And the family, pictured with their creation, enjoyed having their new "visitor" outside their home.
It was a big thrill for Kyle who will be hoping the wintry weather brings further snow and snowmen.
