A LOVE of motor racing has resulted in a Radcliffe photographer receiving a prestigious award.
A decade ago Stephen White (40) of Haworth Walk began taking along his camera when he went to watch races.
He "developed" an interest in photography which led to him studying the subject at Radcliffe Adult Education Centre and Bury Arts and Crafts Centre.
"I just really enjoy it and I particularly like photographing wildlife and landscapes. In fact most weekends I go to the North Yorkshire Moors to get some shots," he said.
Recently Mr White submitted a portfolio of ten of his photographs to the internationally renowned Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.
A panel of Society fellows appraised them and awarded a delighted Mr White a Licentiateship.
Mr White, who is currently unemployed, now intends to put his award to good use by becoming a professional photographer.
