SEASON SO FAR:

City's hopes of an instant return to the Football League may have been dashed but Graham Barrow has put the club back on an even keel thanks to a 17-game unbeaten run

MANAGER:

Graham Barrow: If anyone knows how to manage on a shoe-string budget then it's Barrow. He started his managerial career with Chester where he led the club to promotion in his first full season. Since then, he's had spells with hard-up clubs like Wigan and Rochdale before returning for his second spell with City in the summer.

TOP SCORER:

Steve Whitehall: Veteran striker Whitehall forged a reputation as a handy goalscorer in the lower divisions during spells with Rochdale and Mansfield. Now he's returned to his non-League roots where he's currently banging the goals in for Chester. He tops the charts with seven in the league so far this season.

PREDICTED LINE-UP:

Barrow is likely to adopt a 5-3-2 formation for the game at Ewood, knowing his side's best chance of coming away with a result is to try and hit Rovers on the break.

ONE TO WATCH:

Paul Carden: Midfield terrier Carden has won some rave reviews for Chester this season. Initially, he had a spell on loan with City last season but Barrow made him his first signing.

His midfield partnership with Chris Blackburn was one of the main features of City's recent 17-game unbeaten run.
