SEASON SO FAR
The Iron made a decent start to the season as they looked to bounce straight back into Division Two but have stuttered over the last month and are without a win in five League games to sit eighth in the table. They have won away just twice.
MANAGER:
Brian Laws: Laws is in his second managerial job after previously taking charge at Grimsby Town. The former Burnley, Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Grimsby full-back led Scunthorpe to promotion to Division Two via the play-offs in his first full season at the helm.
TOP SCORER
Guy Ipoua: Cameroon-born former Bristol Rovers striker Ipoua has scored 16, despite missing the first 10 games of the season. The 34-year-old scored has a goal in each of his last two games and netted twice on his last visit to Turf Moor.
PREDICTED LINE-UP:
The Iron are forced into one change because of suspension to right-sided midfielder Gareth Sheldon. Peter Morrison may deputise. Highly-rated young central defender Nathan Stanton faces a fitness check after picking up a knock on Monday.
ONE TO WATCH
Lee Hodges: Former West Ham United midfielder Hodges is Scunthorpe's midfield play-maker. The 22-year-old former England schoolboy international cost £50,000 from the Hammers 18 months ago and is a threat cutting in from the left. Scored a stunning goal against Burnley in May.
DID YOU KNOW?
Scunthorpe have won away from home only once since beating Macclesfield on the opening day of the season, and that was at bottom side Carlisle United. Their best run in the FA Cup was to the fifth round in 1958 and 1970.
