BURY boss Andy Preece has issued the rallying cry all Shakers fans want to hear: "We're gunning for the play-offs".
Victory over Swindon Town before Christmas ended a terrible two-month run and, after further good performances against Stoke and Rotherham, Preece is confident that his team can begin to put a run together.
And he's hoping it starts tomorrow against Cambridge United at Gigg Lane, when Bury could record their first double of the season - they beat the U's 1-0 at the Abbey Stadium on the opening day of the season.
"You only have to look at the likes of Bristol City and Notts County to see the play-offs are still possible. Those teams have come from nowhere," said Preece.
"All we need is to put a run together. If we have a good five-game spell we'll find ourselves in touch with the teams in the play-offs.
Pressing
"The next 10 or 12 games are matches I'd expect us to win. We've got some good ones coming up at Gigg but we shouldn't fear any of them. They are against a lot of the teams who we've already beaten earlier on in the season."
Chris Swailes has been the main injury worry this week after suffering a groin strain during the Rotherham match.
However he trained for the first time yesterday and is almost certain to start against Cambridge.
Striker Lutel James is also pressing for a place in the first 11 after firing two goals for the reserves in the 3-1 midweek win against Doncaster.
The bad news was Darren Bullock, who scored the other goal, was dismissed and now faces a suspension.
Preece said: "We don't know exactly what Bully was sent off for yet. I was standing right near him when it happened and I'm not sure so we'll have to wait for the referee's report to find out.
"Lutel played really well, just like he did when he came on against Rotherham. He is definitely knocking on the door now and is next in line to get a chance."
Cambridge is a game Bury really should win. They haven't won away from home since September when they beat Oldham 3-1 and are currently languishing in 18th place in the table.
Their last match at Bristol City was a disaster and they were hammered 6-2.
