FANS of ghostly goings on can have their ghoulish appetites satisfied with a haunting walk through a Darwen wood.
Expert in the "other side" Simon Entwistle is hoping to return to the borough this month for a Guided Ghost Walk through Sunnyhurst Wood in Darwen.
Peter Coultherd, senior warden at Blackburn with Darwen's countryside services which has organised the event said they hoped not to be beaten by the weather as a previous planned walk for Hallowe'en had been.
He said: "Unfortunately the elements got the better of us on that evening."
"Whether you are nine or 89 as long as you have a sense of adventure and wear suitable clothing and footwear, I am sure you will have a good time if you go down to the woods."
He added: "In view of the record number of bookings we received for the October walk, I think we can assume this New Year Ghost Walk will be very popular, so early booking is essential to ensure a ticket."
A council spokeswoman added: "The event we had in December at Witton Country Park was a great success, but this will be an actual walk through the wood with lanterns and everything. It should be great spooky fun."
The walk takes place on Tuesday January 16, and tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for the under 16s. They are available on the council's Ghost-line 01254 55423. Details of times and venues are available when booking tickets.
